Helen of Troy
Helen of Troy
This print is taken from the stunning portrait of 'Helen of Troy' (c1867) by Frederick Sandys and currently on display at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, England.
The expression on the original is worthy of a visit alone and reminiscent of the face that both my children regularly pull when annoyed at me.
Sandys (from Norwich) had a short marriage that only lasted three years, although they never divorced. He had a long affair with the Romany woman Keomi Gray, who sat as a model both for him and Dante Gabriel Rossetti and can be seen in another great painting by the latter entitled 'The Beloved'.
This high-quality, A4 Giclée print is from a total run of 40.
Each print is hand signed, titled and numbered.
